Our group consist of 6 members. Each is assigned to do a different task. 1 camergirl, 2 recorder and 3 measurers. The measurers must each find as many people as they could to go to the designated area which we take the measurements. The two designated are held on consecutive two different days are the back of the south wing library and in the Bio Lab.
1. We went around the library approaching NYP students and staffs between the age of 18 - 30 years old. We asked them politely if they could spare us a little of their time follow us to the back of their library to get their height and weight taken. Also, we explained to them that pictures need to be taken as our evidence of our data collection and will be posted on a form of blog. We obtained their consent before proceeding to height and weight measurements.
2. We tell the participants to take of their shoes and any heavy belongings in the pockets because it may alter the height and weight measurements.
3. Firstly, we will direct them to queue up and get their height taken. We instruct them to stand and lean against on the flat surface wall where the measuring tape is already taped on, with both foot put together and heels must touch the wall. Look straight and do not move the head. If female participants have their hair tied and their back of head cannot lean againt the wall, we will kindly asked them to take down the rubber band.
4. Secondly, after the height taking we direct them to get their weight taken immediately just right beside the height taking corner. Make sure that they do not have any heavy belongings in the pocket and shoes are taken off when weight taking. Same thing, we tell them to stand on the weighing scale with both foot nicely fit on the weighing scale and look forward.
5. Depending on people, some may think that height and weight is a sensitive biodata. So, we have 2 measurers. One standing next to the measurer at the height taking and one standing next to the weighing scale. The measurer will tell the recorder clear enough the measurements, and the measurer will look at measurements the recorder wrote to make sure the measuremetns is accurate.
6. We thank the participants and assure him/her that their data will be kept annonymous.
7. After collected all the data, we then convert the height in centimetres into height in metres for easier calculation of Body Mass Index(BMI).
How did we gather the samples?
For the height, it is measures from the top of your head to the tip of the toe. Everytime before taking the readings, make sure that the participant stand straight and lean against the wall with the 2 foot put together witht eh hell touching the wall. Height is taken in centimetres, then after that we convert it into metres.
Example.

For the weight, will be measured in kilogramms. Everytime before a taking the person's weight, we will double checked to make sure that the Red marking is on the zero marking so as to get a accurate readings. So basically, the person just stand on the weighing maching we take down the readings whereby the Red marking indicated on which number.
Example.

What did we use to measure?
Weighing scale

Measuring tape
How often - once or average of three?
We take the first reading as our final reading, but we take it accurately without and influences that may alter the results.
Any rejection?
Yes, of course. All the rejection comes from the females. Some of them thinks that the height and weight is a sensitive matter, especially the weight. We tried convincing them by explaining to them that their biodata will be kept confidential, only the group members are allowed to read the data. And we did tried assured them that they will be kept annonymous. But they still refused, so we did not force them. But still thank them for their time. While the rest were in the rush of time.
